See All ReviewsMy husband and I frequented Emo's for a while, meeting up to have lunch during the work day. We had lunch there probably more than five times together. Always, the waiter never smiled, seemed as if he wanted to be elsewhere, was gruff, and generally didn't give customers much acknowledgement. The lunch specials were usually light on the protein, focusing mainly on the carbs or vegetables. Still, the flavor was always delicious and satisfied. For the price paid, we didn't feel like complaining. Then, one day, we went in for lunch. We were both already having a rough day. The waiter barely acknowledged us when we waved at him. He took his time to get to us. And when he did come by to take our order, we repeated our order (both were getting the same thing) at least FOUR times between the two of us. We ordered two of the Emo's Chicken. The waiter thought we said "Elmo's Chicken" in the chatter of the restaurant and made us repeat it over and over again with the utmost rudeness. I have actually never had SUCH rude service in my life. I have worked as a waitress in the past and find such rudeness to a customer utterly unacceptable. After that experience, my husband and I will never return to Emo's. Regardless of how good the food might be (and they really do try to skimp on the expensive ingredients like protein here), if a restaurant doesn't appreciate customers and treats them this rudely, it's not worth paying for. If I ever get a craving for Korean food, I'm going across the street to Korea House. They have always been prompt, polite, and kind in their service.
I went there for lunch and had the bibimbap from the lunch specials menu. The bowl was mostly rice with a few vegetables and only 2-3 tiny strips of beef. It was ridiculous...how can you call something beef bibimbap when it has almost no beef in it? In addition, the kimchi side had literally 3 pieces of kimchi in it. The food was incredibly disappointing and the service was absolutely terrible. The waiter was SO slow and he never once checked in on us after serving us the food. Instead he went to sit in a corner and fold napkins. TLDR: I left the place starving and service was awful.
Went for lunch expecting bibimbap. What I got was some very measly side dishes and practically no beef. Might as well not include kimchi and bulgogi beef in the menu. Honestly felt like I wasn't taken seriously as a customer. The waiter was absent. If youre actually into Korean food, go elsewhere. This may be passable if you have no idea whats on the menu. I completely dont understand all the good ratings below.
